Importing contacts from Outlook to Google Gmail
- Log in to Google's Gmail.
- In the left column, click Contacts .
- the right side of your screen, above the number of messages, click Export .
- Select Outlook CSV (for import into Outlook clients) . Click Export Contacts

- When prompted to download the export file, click Save .
- Choose a location on your computer to temporarily save the file. The default file name is gmail-to-outlook.csv.
Note You can delete this file after you import your contacts in Outlook.
- Click Save .
- In Outlook, click Import and Export File menu .
- Click Import from another program or file , and then click Next .
- Click Comma Separated Values \u200b\u200b(DOS) , and then click Next .
- box Import File, click Browse to locate the file you downloaded in step 8, then double click the file.
- Select one of the following options: Replace
- duplicates with items imported
- Allow creation of duplicate
- Do not import duplicate
- Click Next .
- In the folder list, click the Contacts folder where you want to save the contact information is imported, and then click Next .
- To add or remove fields to determine how the contact information will be saved in the new imported file, click Map Custom Fields . Note
Is the Map Custom Fields button dialog Import File not be available when you import data from another program or file. To activate the Map Custom Fields button , select the check box Import group will do the following .

Export contacts from Outlook to Google Gmail
Before you export contacts from Outlook, you should know the difference between the Outlook Address Book and Outlook Contacts. Both are part of Outlook, but the book is a collection of various lists of addresses stored in Outlook, such as directory LDAP (LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol): Protocol that allows access to the services directory.) , the ' GAL (Global Address List: address book that contains all e-mail users, groups and distribution lists of an organization.
